It's a beautiful morning at the Aiken County Farmers Market and a perfect time to serve my customers fresh, delicious, healthy, and nutrient-dense microgreens, the seedlings of vegetables and herbs that contain 4-to-40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts (fully developed produce). 🌱
In the photo, I am holding a growing tray of Basic Salad Mix microgreens, one of two salad mixes that I bring to the Farmers Market every Saturday.
Both of my microgreens salad mixes -- Basic and Spicy -- contain these seedlings:
- Arugula
- Broccoli
- Red Acre Cabbage
- Kale and
- Purple Vienna Kohlrabi. 🌱
The Spicy Salad Mix adds in Southern Giant Mustard seedlings to give a nice warm mustardy kick 🦵, almost like an afterthought.
Microgreens let anyone add color, flavor, nutrients, and texture to their meals! 💚 😋 💪 ✅ 🍽️
Each of my microgreens has its own nutrient profile and flavor, ranging from mild to spicy. 🎯 🏆
