Happy first Saturday of February 2026! 🎉
Let's get back to "basics" on microgreens, the nutrient-dense seedlings of vegetables and herbs that contain 4-to-40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts (fully developed produce).
Many people are familiar with broccoli 🥦 as a vegetable.
I grow two microgreens salad mixes -- Basic and Spicy -- that have broccoli microgreens or seedlings in them. 🌱
Both of my mixes contain these seedlings:
- Arugula
- Broccoli
- Red Acre Cabbage
- Kale and
- Purple Vienna Kohlrabi. 🌱
The Spicy Salad Mix adds in Southern Giant Mustard seedlings to give a nice warm mustardy kick 🦵, almost like an afterthought.
To make meals "sing" with color, flavor, nutrients, and texture, add microgreens! 🍽️

Each of my microgreens has its own nutrient profile and flavor, ranging from mild to spicy. 😋
This morning, I have these fresh, delicious, healthy, and nutrient-dense microgreens:

- Sunflower. 🏆
