What is a 5-Day Microgreens Challenge?

Our 5-Day Microgreens Challenge is a fun challenge to use microgreens in one’s food for 5 days in a row.

Details of Our 5-Day Microgreens Challenge

1. Each day of the challenge, create freshly prepared food with microgreens you bought, preferably from an authorized vendor as listed in the Files section of the 5-Day Microgreens Challenge group on Facebook.

2. After preparing your microgreens-laden food, take a photo of it, and upload your photo with your description as a comment on the date-specific challenge post on our Facebook page.

3. If you have done Steps 1-2 for 5 days in a row during our challenge, you’ll be awarded as a “green shield award winner” and receive special recognition!

5-Day Microgreens Challenge FAQ

1. Why would I want to use microgreens in my food for 5 days in a row?

Microgreens obtained from NKBJ Microgreens — or our list of authorized vendors — are fresh, delicious, and healthy.

Besides their great taste, vibrant color, and marvelous texture, they are nutrient dense!

Depending on the microgreens, they contain 4-to-40 times as many nutrients as their mature counterparts.

2. Do I have to make the same kind of food (like salads) every day for 5 days in a row?

No! You can always mix and match with something different every day!

3. What if I can’t figure out how to fix food with microgreens?

There are an unlimited number of ways to use microgreens, including in or with these types of food:

  • Beef
  • Burritos / Tacos
  • Desserts
  • Eggs (Boiled, Scrambled, Frittatas, Omelets, etc.)
  • Juices / Smoothies
  • Pork
  • Poultry
  • Pancakes
  • Pasta

  • Soups
  • Steamed
  • Veggie Mix

4. Where can I order microgreens?

Realizing that microgreens take 9-12 days lead time to grow, please feel free to order microgreens from us online or from our list of authorized vendors.

5. Do I have to wait until posted challenge weeks to participate?

Absolutely not!

Please feel free to enter into any 5-days-in-a-row challenge that you like.

Just remember to upload your photo and description to our Facebook page each of the 5 days you choose!

Please remember that we want to use some of the photos and descriptions submitted through our Facebook page in our email newsletter.

Challengees who live in the greater Aiken, SC, area whose photos are selected for publication in our email newsletter are eligible to get a discount on their next order!
