The difference between living microgreens and cut or harvested microgreens is that the former are still alive and able to grow.
Furthermore, customers are responsible for the care of live microgreens until they harvest them.
You may wish to read Vicki’s PDF entitled:
“Caring For Microgreens In Live Grow Trays After Delivery.”
The photo here shows a 1010 tray with microgreens that have not yet been harvested.
See the roots growing through the holes in the bottom of the tray?
You can still water the microgreens and cut them to eat at your leisure.
Please be aware though, that the longer you allow living microgreens to grow,
- the stem will grow taller,
- more leaves will develop, and
- the taste of the harvested greens may change.
The next step beyond microgreens is called “baby greens.”
